A few rules for photo models

Photography is a frozen moment that becomes history. That is why many of us panic, intending to be photographed: we want to look gorgeous in history. We want the camera to capture us in the best possible way, because the inexorable time is so fleeting, and never return its former beauty. And although at the present time in order to take a photo, no special skills are required – just press the camera button – many people are very disappointed with the resulting image. But to take a good picture is really not so difficult, you just need to know some of the techniques used by professional photographers …Your appearance
Face
The basic rule of makeup for those who are going to be photographed – the more matte makeup you do, the better. Shiny shadows and lip gloss will not flatter you in future photos, even if they really suit you in real life. The only exception is: to make your lips appear fuller in the photo, apply a little lip gloss on the middle of the lower lip. In addition, too dark shades of lipstick and eye shadow will make you look older in the picture. In order for the skin to look perfect, it is best to apply a matte tone foundation. If the face has reddening or dark circles under the eyes, it is necessary to use also masking means, for example, a masking pencil. If the complexion and without a tonal foundation is quite even, then we can limit ourselves to applying powder and blush. Professional photographers who shoot models also advise them to stop drinking alcohol and too spicy or salty food on the day before the shooting, and on the shooting day itself. Otherwise, in a future photo, your face may be swollen and puffy, or even a second chin will appear, which you were not aware of.

Hair
The smoother and shinier your hair is, the better it will look in the photo. However, avoid hairstyles with straight hair that is too smooth, otherwise you may be bald in the photo. Best of all get pictures with flowing hair. If you have natural straight hair, then for a better shine it is necessary to comb it with a brush with natural bristles, and then sprinkle it with glitter. Natural bristles consist of layers of tiny scales that clean hair from dust and give it exceptional shine. For wavy and curly hair, it is best to wet the hair first and then let it dry naturally. During drying periodically, occasionally shake the hair slightly so that the strands disperse a little. This hairstyle will look most natural in the photo.

clothing
Too spacious or too tight clothes, it is better to prefer clothes that tightly fit your figure. You should also choose darker colors of clothes – they will be slim in the photo. Avoid too bright colors and large patterns, otherwise the photograph will not attract attention yourself, but your dress. If you wear glasses, it is better to take pictures without them, unless, of course, you are not filming for a passport or driver’s license. If you have to be photographed with glasses, then choose glasses with anti-reflective coating (this also applies to glasses from the sun), otherwise it may happen that glasses will reflect the light and you will not see the eyes behind them.

Smile
The best smile is a natural smile. So try to smile with your eyes, not just your lips. Think not about how perfect, but how pleasant and natural your smile will be. It is better not to train in advance in front of the mirror, the rehearsed smiles in the photo look lifeless.

Pose
As in the case of a smile, it is best to take a natural posture. The most successful are the photos in half a turn, they perfectly emphasize the waist line and all the curves of the figure. If you prefer to be photographed while looking straight into the camera, then at least put your body weight on one leg. Try not to look frowningly, otherwise you will get a very long nose in the photo. And finally, do not forget to breathe! Many people, taking pictures, hold their breath and take a frozen pose. In the end, and in the photo they look frozen. When people try to control too much, their photo looks lifeless. Be yourself and try to convey your vitality and energy in the photo.

A couple of common rules
When taking a picture, think like a camera. We see the world in three dimensions, while the photographs are two-dimensional. Therefore, in amateur photographs, for example, a tree branch often grows, as it were, from a man’s ear or from his head a table lamp sticks out. Always pay attention to what exactly is in the background and how these objects will appear in a future photo.

The best source of light is natural sunlight. A flash discolor facial features. If you are shooting indoors, do it without a flash, in good sunny weather, getting up or sitting near the window.
